I'm a software engineer who likes the unglamorous middle of things: the API that collects the data, the schema that keeps it trustworthy, and the nightly job that keeps it moving. At Ripple Effects I build data-backed tools for schools, most recently the device API and data model for about 300 voice-enabled companions used in classrooms.
I also care about who gets left out. I led a company-wide WCAG 2.1 accessibility initiative through to certification, and when I taught at Code Fellows I pushed semantic, accessible code from the first week.
Before and between software, I thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail and worked seasons in Bar Harbor, Alaska, Oregon, Montana, and Utah. That's where the field notes come from, and where I'm headed: I'm finishing a CS degree, then a data science certificate, and building data projects with public environmental datasets along the way.
